The 2026 Hope in Shadows calendar is on sale now! This year’s theme, Humour, shows light and laughter captured by our participants. If you are based in the Lower Mainland, we highly encourage finding a vendor near you to buy directly from them if you are able. Give us a call for support in finding a vendor — call the Vendor Coordinator at 604-255-9701 ex. 137.

If you are unable to reach a vendor or live outside of Vancouver, we can also ship a calendar directly to your doorstep.

Megaphone Magazine Subscription

For $110, a one-year Home Delivery Subscription to Megaphone magazine includes 12 issues and a copy of our most recent Voices of the Street anthology delivered right to your door. Each issue is a collector’s item and your purchase supports print journalism out of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

For $25, a one-year Digital Subscription to Megaphone magazine includes 12 issues delivered to your email inbox in PDF format. Please note thatVoices of the Street is only included in Home Delivery (physical) subscriptions!

Back issues that are not carried by vendors can be downloaded in PDF format. Digital back issues are free, but tips at checkout are appreciated and distributed to active vendors.

Megaphone's 13-month Hope in Shadows Calendar features winning photographs from a photo contest open to the low-income vendors who sell the calendar to earn income. This year's theme was "Humour – Laughter and Light," and over 100 community members ventured out into their neighbourhoods to capture just that. After a Community Jury and a summer of public voting, we're happy to present the winning Top 13 photos in this beautiful calendar, featuring almost all first-time photographers!

$10 of each purchase, plus tips, goes directly into the pockets of our vendors, and $10 allows the organization to create meaningful work opportunities for people living on low incomes while building support to end poverty.
